Stone County Idol is a quest to seek out the ordinary people and let them show their talent as the next singing superstar that truly shines above the rest.

The format of this competition features three judges who critiques the contestants’ performances in order to facilitate the voting.

In the end, the audience chooses the Stone County Idol which is announced at a specified time on April 5, 2008.

Selections will be based on talent in areas of music styles including but not limited to: rock, pop, hip/hop, R & B, alternative, inspirational, and country.

$25.00 Entry Fee is Required.

Must be ages: 16-28 (participants under 18 years must have parental consent)

JUDGES GUIDELINES

The decision of the judging panel and the director are final in all areas.

Stone County Economic Development Partnership and Stone County Idol judges are not responsible for any CD’s left after the show.

PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

  • The use of profanity is prohibited.
  • Sexually explicit gestures are prohibited.
  • The promotion of violence in your song lyrics is prohibited.
  • Time limit for each act must not exceed 5 minutes– any act over 5 minutes will be disqualified.
  • Preliminary Auditions begin Friday, April 4, 2008.
  • The two participants with the highest score will move on to the next round performing on stage at the Pine Hill Festival.
  • No cassette tapes will be allowed. CD’s Only. CD’s should be clearly marked with contestants name, song title and track number written/attached to the case.
  • Contestants are responsible for picking up their CD’s after the performance.
  • All Applications and entry fee must be collected by Friday, March 28, 2008
  • All Music must be collected by 6pm on Friday, April 4, 2008.
