Business Exposure/Networking

• Business After Hours: This SCEDP-hosted event is offered at an SCEDP member business location, allowing members to network in a casual setting.
• Business Referrals: Each month, The SCEDP refers individuals or businesses to information-seekers. Only SCEDP members are referred. Referrals are made by/through: SCEDP staff, fellow members, and the SCEDP Web site.
• Breakfast with a Dignitary: An early morning networking event for SCEDP members and the public. This SCEDP-hosted event features programs of interest to the community.
• New Managers Meetings: SCEDP introduces new managers in Stone County to the business community to create synergy and comradeship among business leaders .
• Manufacturers Meetings: Industries’ and manufacturers’ plant managers meet quarterly to hear guest speakers, receive information of interest and importance to their various businesses, and network.
• Business Workshops-Seminars
  The SCEDP offers workshops through the WIN Job Center, Small Business Administration and the Procurement Center. SCEDP hosts these periodic learning opportunities on a wide variety of topics for members.
• Identification

New SCEDP membership notices are distributed annually to identify active SCEDP members and show the community which businesses are investing in Stone County and support its progress.

• Ribbon Cuttings, Groundbreakings and Grand Openings
  The SCEDP will host and organize publicity events for new or expanding businesses. Area officials, local media, the SCEDP Board of Directors and SCEDP members are invited.
• SCEDP supplies publicity assistance, which includes writing and distributing SCEDP news releases on new business or a business expansion.

The SCEPD provides a variety of services designed to keep members informed and up-to-date on current issues, community events and SCEDP activities.

  The SCEDP’s Web site is an on-line marketing tool offering links to SCEDP members with Web site or e-mail addresses. It also features Stone County Chamber, economic development, tourism, community information, an events calendar, the SCEDP’s Program of Work and quarterly newsletter.
• Blast E-Mail

SCEDP members are made aware of special events and meetings through a blast e-mail update.

• Membership Newsletter
  The SCEDP’s quarterly newsletter keeps members informed of upcoming events, highlights member accomplishments and details recent events. Each issue includes a list of new ADP members and a calendar of events.
